The Spookiest and Scariest Halloween Pest Stories

When it comes to choosing between a trick or a treat, we pick treat! So, in the spirit of Halloween, we’d like to treat you to some fictional pest stories that our team came up with. Which story would spook you the most? 

Eight Legs of Terror

Sam got into the shower one day and turned on the water. He wet his hair and put on some shampoo. After lathering up, he turned around to rinse the shampoo out of his hair. As soon as he turned, he saw a giant spider sitting on the wall a few inches in front of his face. His wife heard his scream from outside. She ran in and found him standing in the bedroom, dripping wet with shampoo in his hair. She checked the bathroom to see if the spider was still there.

The spider was nowhere to be seen. Was it a figment of the imagination or is that spider laying eggs in some secret location? 

Flying Rats

Betty had settled into bed one night. After a few minutes, she heard a high-pitched squealing noise somewhere close by. It didn't sound like her dog, and her daughter was at her ex's house for the weekend. She couldn't figure out what the noise was. But, it went away, and she went to sleep. Then, about 3:00 in the morning, she woke up to hear the squealing again. Except, this time it was louder. It sounded like there was more than one source. 

It wouldn't stop.

With some careful listening, she figured out it was coming from inside the wall behind her headboard. It was likely rats. She spent the rest of the night in the guest bedroom on the other side of the house. She called us out the next morning. A bit of investigation found it wasn't rats; it was bats. They had found a small hole up under the eave and had made themselves at home in a wall cavity. When the exterminator tapped the wall, they came crawling out and flew into a nearby tree before being able to capture any of them.

The question now is - will they return?

Grandma's Kitchen

A young man was visiting his grandmother's house in Lakeland over his summer break. She was getting up in years, and he noticed the house wasn't up to her usual standards of cleanliness and order. Since he was there for a few days, he wanted to help. 

He asked her if he could clean behind the fridge and stove. She was more than happy to have him do it. She hadn't been able to do that for a couple of years. 

The fridge wasn't a problem. It came out easy, then he gave the walls and floor a good scrub down before putting it back in place. Next was the stove.

He started pulling the stove out, when it happened. Hundreds, if not thousands, of German cockroaches started crawling out from behind the stove. They went up the walls and across the floor. 

After getting his grandmother out of the house, of course he gave us a call for pest control.
