How To Identify That You Have A Flea Problem
The best way to identify a flea bite is by checking to see if your pet's skin is red and irritated. Fleas will attack the belly, hindquarters, neck, and ears. There's a good chance you have a flea infestation if you are able to locate multiple bites on your pet.
Why You Might Have Fleas
If you notice flea feces or dark brown specks on the skin, use a paper towel to pick it up to and investigate it further. If it becomes a reddish brown color after applying a drop of water than it's indeed flea feces. The reddish brown color is from the blood that the flea has previously consumed.
Reasons To Treat Your Flea Problem Immediately
Flea bites can become extremely itchy, and the surrounding skin may become sore and painful. Once bitten by a flea, your body releases histamine.
